Jason Manford finished his gig at Newcastle City Hall on Wednesday night early after a woman near to the front collapsed.
The show was coming to an end when the woman in the second row was taken ill around 15 minutes before the finish.
As it happens a number of free tickets had been given to NHS staff wo there were plenty of people on hand to deal with the situation.
After the gig Manford put out a message on social media: "So sorry the show had to finish slightly early tonight folks. The paramedics are still in the auditorium working on the lady who collapsed. Hoping she’s going to be alright. ❤️ Thankfully is given so many free tickets to NHS staff and Emergency Services folks earlier, there was an abundance of helpers. Thanks all of you."
"Thanks to everyone who helped and for the the audience being so cool and giving her some dignity by shuffling out quietly!Last little thing, if you’re gonna be by yourself, please have details of an emergency contact on your person, or bag, or phone especially if you have particular medical problems. Help others to help you! Lots of love, Jason
Manford has spoken to the woman since the gig. She was feeling better and apologised for interrupting the show.
