News: Noel James Does Britain's Got Talent Semi Final

Update: Sadly Noel James made it into the top three in his semi-final but did not quite make it into the final despite David Walliams' enthusiastic support.

Welsh comedian Noel James has appeared in the Britain's Got Talent semi final tonight (June 7) on ITV.

James said before his performance that he has been a comic for 25 years and sees his appearance as "a gamble" and that he would love to be more popular.

His set consisted of a string of silly, surreal one-liners, wordplay, gags and a frog impersonation.

"For those of you that don't know where my accent is from it's from my mouth," the Swansea stand-up joked. "I come from a long line of comedians. You can still see them outside the Job Centre."

Amanda Holden said he "scrubbed up very well." Simon Cowell said "this is not my thing," and turned to David Walliams, who said "You deserve to be one of the biggest stars on British TV." Alesha Dixon said: "Good for you."

Comics Robert White and Lost Voice Guy have already made it into Sunday's final.
