A handwritten script of the classic Two Ronnies sketch has been sold at an auction.
The historic artefact went for £28,000 when it was put up for sale at East Bristol Auctions.
Ronnie Barker wrote the sketch using the pseudonym Gerald Wiley. It has been said that he used the pen name so that material he submitted did not get looked upon favourably because it was knopwn to be by Barker. It was only later that Wiley's true identity was discovered.
The sketch was first broadcast in 1976 and has gone on to be a classic, regularly featuring in Best Comedy Sketch polls. It is said that it was inspired by Harringtons traditional hardware shop in Broadstairs near to where Ronnie Corbett once had a house.
The script was featured on The Antiques Roadshow in 2006.
