Comedian Katherine Ryan brings her acclaimed, total sell-out 2017/18 nationwide tour show Glitter Room to the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End from 17th – 29th September 2018
Originally from Canada, now UK-based, and star of Netflix’s KATHERINE RYAN: IN TROUBLE and Comedy Central’s ROAST BATTLE and YOUR FACE OR MINE, Katherine is a writer, performer and stand-up comedian who is dominating the television and live comedy scenes – both in the UK and abroad.
Katherine recently became the first woman to host Channel Four's 8 OUT OF 10 CATS DOES COUNTDOWN, taking the host chair for a special episode to commemorate women’s suffrage in the UK that will air later this year.
She was only the second UK-based comedian (after Jimmy Carr) to have a Netflix Original Comedy Special released globally. KATHERINE RYAN: IN TROUBLE was filmed at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo and was released to 190 countries in February 2017.
In July 2018, Katherine will return to her native Canada to host the 8-part series THE STAND-UP SHOW WITH KATHERINE RYAN for Canada’s The Comedy Network / Bell Media. Performances will be taped over six records at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival Comedy Festival in Montreal, a festival of which Katherine is a veteran.
In 2017, Katherine judged Comedy Central’s hit show ROAST BATTLE with Russell Brand and host Jimmy Carr, which was a smash hit and became the highest rated series in their history.
Katherine’s factual entertainment series HOW'D YOU GET SO RICH?, based on the original Joan Rivers series in the US in which she met the super-wealthy, aired on Channel 4 to great reviews and ratings.
Katherine has made countless appearances on the UK’s major panel shows from the BBC's QI, WOULD I LIE TO YOU?, FRANKIE BOYLE’S NEW WORLD ORDER (where she is a regular panellist), HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU (which she has presented twice), and LIVE AT THE APOLLO to Dave's TASKMASTER Series 2 (which she won and was runner-up in the Champion's Champion special).
Katherine has guest-hosted THE ONE SHOW (BBC1) and SUNDAY BRUNCH (C4), as well as the Christmas episode of LIVE AT THE APOLLO on BBC2. Other notable TV credits include Channel 4’s TRAVEL MAN with Richard Ayoade, THE BIG FAT QUIZ OF THE YEAR (C4), A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN (C4), THE JONATHAN ROSS SHOW (ITV), THE BIG FAT QUIZ OF EVERYTHING (C4), FAKE NEWS (C4), Sky’s flagship music show - BRING THE NOISE, COMEDY CENTRAL AT THE COMEDY STORE and Dave’s GO 8 BIT.
GLITTER ROOM is Katherine’s first UK tour since the hugely successful KATHBUM which had two sell-out nationwide UK tours as well as runs at the Edinburgh Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. The tour culminated at the Hammersmith Apollo for the Netflix record.
In 2017, Katherine performed at the prestigious Oddball Festival in Toronto, alongside Amy Schumer. Katherine was the first UK based comic ever to perform at the festival.
