Comedian Marcus Brigstockes has finally got his beloved camper van back. But he did have to pay for it.
Brigstocke's "Superbrig" was stolen last year. It was a familiar sight at festivals where he would often cook meals for fellow comedians. He used to spend a lot of time in it after his marriage break-up and had understandably become attached to it.
After the theft he did receive an insurance payout but then remarkably it was recovered in May. Except that now the insurance company owned it. The only way the comic could get it back was to buy it when it was auctioned off this weekend. After some tense bidding when the price rose to beyond what Brigstocke had received in the payout for it he was delighted to take ownership once more.
He posted the good news on Facebook: "I WON! THE SUPERBRIG IS COMING HOME!"
Marcus Brigstocke may or may not be catering for other comics when he performs his latest show, Devil May Care, at the Pleasance Courtyard from August 1 - 26 this year. Buy tickets here.
