Rising star Lolly Adefope has had to cancel her Edinburgh Fringe run this year after landing a role in a major new American TV series.
Her promoters Berk's Nest confirmed the news in a tweet: "Sadly @lollyadefope's Edinburgh run this year has been cancelled due to her landing a lead role in a US series shooting this summer. All ticketholders should have been contacted already - let us know if not & we'll look into it."
Adefope was due to be performing her third full-length Fringe show this August. She is already signed up to appear in TBS’s upcoming American show Miracle Workers starring Steve Buscemi. Adefope later tweeted: "I was really looking forward to going and this all happened very quickly! the show is just on pause for now! x"
The character comic is the second big name to pull out of the Fringe due to being in demand elsewhere. Edinburgh Comedy Award joint winner Hannah Gadsby cancelled her latest run earlier this month and is currently performing his acclaimed last show Nanette in America.
