The final of the 2018 So You Think You're Funny? competition has been held at the Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Over 400 acts with less than one year's experience competed in heats around the country. Nine acts competed in the final for a first prize of £2500, a trip to perform at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival 2019, a run as part of Gilded Balloon’s 2019 Fringe programme, a complimentary professional headshot photoshoot by Steve Ullathorne, complimentary filmed copy and professional photographs of the winner’s spot from the Grand Final to use in their show reel alongside mentorship and support from Gilded Balloon boss Karen Koren and the So You Think You’re Funny? team.

And the winner is...Danny Garnell.

First runner-up was Liam Farrelly.

Joint second runners-up were Joe Hobbs and Bec Melrose.

The other finalists were Chelsea Birkby, Natalie Loh, Martin Durchov, Patrick Healy and Shane Clifford.
