News: Charges Against Mark Lamarr Dropped

The common assault and false imprisonment charges against Mark Lamarr have been dropped.

The former host of Never Mind the Buzzcocks was due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on Tuesday, but the Crown Prosecution Service has announced that it has dropped the case due to insufficient evidence.

According to reports a CPS spokesperson said: “We have a duty to keep cases under continuing review and, following a further review of this case, we concluded that there was insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction.”

The complainant has the right to appeal against the decision under the victim’s right to review scheme.
