This year's Amused Moose National New Comic Award contest, which will be discovering 2019’s stars-in-the-making, has been launched. This talent search has previously discovered comedy stars of the future such as previous winners Sarah Millican, Jack Whitehall and Rob Beckett, with finalists including Josh Widdicombe, Romesh Ranganathan, Jimmy Carr, Katherine Ryan, Kevin Bridges and Greg Davies.
Hundreds of entries from across the UK and Ireland are expected, with newish comedians and comedy performers submitting a clip of themselves performing stand-up or sketches onstage, which will be viewed online and sifted by illustrious comedy industry panellists across the UK and around the world who are eager to start their 2019 talentscouting.

After entries close in mid-January, the highest scoring 80 will perform live in quarter finals and then semi finals on Saturdays and Sundays in February and March, hosted by Mark Dolan, at the Amused Moose SohoHo! venue in central London, with the final taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
Uniquely all the audiences vote, as well as those of our industry panel, during all live rounds of the competition.
As well as all the finalists being given the perfect platform from which to launch their comedy career, the winner of the Amused Moose National New Comic title will also receive a shiny trophy, with the opportunity to perform as part of Amused Moose Comedy’s Awardwinners Showcases which traditionally takes place in October in London, to which those comedy scouts and industry who have been unable to see them onstage recently, are invited.
Amused Moose Comedy Awards have proved to be a fantastic shop window for new talent, with finalists being signed by leading agents and promoters including Off The Kerb, Avalon, Chambers Management, UTC Artist Management and PBJ Management, and then becoming household names.
