Russell Hicks has been branded one of the 'Top Six Comics to Watch' by LA's Stand Up Talk Magazine. He has appeared on LA-based show Direct TV's 'What's News?' and is a regular guest on podcasts such as Talkin' Sh*t with Eddie Ifft. He is currently doing some gigs with a difference at the Bill Murray in Islington. Hicks will be performing an hour of unplanned, chaotic comedy. You can turn up or view it from your own home as it is live streamed to the web. Anything can happen as Russell waxes lyrical, gets the audience to help him practice his boxing, plays games and invites along some of his most weird and wonderful friends to join him on the stage/screen. “Comedy should be edifying, intellectual, fun, and stupid and people need to get a pure hit of a real experience as opposed to the chopped up, heavily edited, slicked to perfection, main stream TV diet they are subjected to,” says Hicks.

1. What is the last thing you do before you go onstage (apart from check your flies and/or check your knickers aren't sticking out of your skirt and check for spinach between your teeth)?
Clear my mind. Then tell the other acts, 'Scuse me, I gots some killin' to do'.

Acts who actually do the kind of thing I just joked about doing in question one.
3. What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done?
Glasgow Jongleurs in 2014. The horror...
4. What is the most stupid thing you have ever done?
My debut hour at the Edinburgh Fringe.
5. What has surprised you the most during your career in comedy?
How much some people fail to remember how incredible this is compared to the working life we left behind.
