Hold The Sunset, the BBC sitcom starring John Cleese, returns next month.

The first series was broadcast on Sunday nights at 7.30pm. It now moves to Fridays and returns on 2nd August at 9pm.

The series also stars Alison Steadman, Anne Reid, Jason Watkins, Rosie Cavaleiro, Joanna Scanlan and Peter Egan.

When it first went out in 2018 the Telegraph said it "fizzes with comic energy" but writing in the Mirror Ian Hyland said: "I wouldn’t care if it limped off into the sunset but I didn’t totally hate it. It’s just a shame that the BBC assembled such a fine cast, only to then forget to add the all-important sitcom ingredient, jokes."
