Comedian Katherine Ryan has revealed how she was robbed at home at the weekend.
A masked intruder broke into her north London home. Fortunately her boyfriend Bobby wrestled with them and managed to get back Ryan's Macbook which contains her scripts and other work-related writing. In the picture posted on Instagram there are bloody marks on the laptop though it is not made clear whose blood it is. She is currently working on her first sitcom for streaming service Netflix entitled The Duchess in which she will play a “fashionably disruptive single mom”.
The police were called to the address in north London following the incident. A red-eyed but clearly resilient Ryan posted the news about the theft in a series of Instagram posts and also said that she is seriously considering buying a German Shepherd as her small terriers had not done enough to defend her or her property.
She later posted a picture (below) of a ring on Twitter which the masked man managed to get away with. The emblem is believed to be the logo of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. So if any pawn shop owners are reading this post and and are offered the distinctive ring please contact the police.
Ryan used to live with her daughter Violet in a flat with the "Glitter Room" which was the inspiration for her recent show with the same title. Since that show Ryan has moved into a house. Her boyfriend Bobby was a childhood sweetheart in Canada who she recently met up with again.
