Comedian Tom Neenan is to front his own satirical BBC Sounds podcast, Tom Neenan is Not All Men.
BAFTA nominated comedian and lead writer on BBC Two’s The Mash Report Tom Neenan brings a satirised version of himself to the podcast world after a critically acclaimed Edinburgh show based on the same character.
Throughout the podcast, Tom will explore issues such as how to be a good feminist, how to self-care and how to navigate ‘cancel culture’. As well as speaking to guest experts on these topics, Tom will be joined by his overworked producer Hazen Aman, his ex-girlfriend (but it's fine) Anna Creswell and the looming presence of much more successful podcaster (and Anna's new boyfriend) Callum Grant.
Tom Neenan (the real one) said: "I feel the last few years have shown how men really need to re-examine themselves and their behaviour. That’s why I tried to make comedy from examining the very worst elements of my own personality and presenting them as a comedy character. It’s cathartic, hilarious and distressing to be able to present this truly abysmal version of myself. This podcast is like looking into a mirror made of pure insecurity."
The series stars Tom Neenan, Shivani Thussu, Rachel Parris, Tom Crowley, Nadia Kamil, Lost Voice Guy, Stevie Martin, Alistair Green, Graham Dickson, Desiree Burch, Benjamin Partridge, Sarah Campbell, Kat Sadler and Natasha Hodgson.
Tom Neenan is Not All Men is available from October 28th on BBC Sounds: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07rn8fc
