Stand-up comedian Rich Wilson has successfully raised the money for a bed-bound woman to have her own bath that she can get into.
Wilson set up a gofundme page and raised the necessary £300 for a specially-made inflatable bed-bath from America for Faye Talbot, who has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and cannot stand or walk.
He put out an appeal after she joked on Twitter about wanting the bath. Wilson paid tribute to Talbot on the fundraising page: "She radiates positivity like no one else I've ever met, despite the fact that Faye has been bed bound for many, many years. She never lets her illness get her down and is always kind and caring. Of course, she'd love to be well but that, unfortunately for now, doesn't seem likely just yet.
She wants for nothing but would be elated if she could just have a bath again and that's where you come in. There is an inflatable bed bath online that would bring incredible joy to Faye but her and her wonderful family don't quite have the funds so I'm reaching out to you, the beautiful people, to help me get the money together to give Faye a bath and bring some happiness to an incredible woman. We need £300 which I'm sure we can rustle up.
The target was quickly reached and the campaign has now raised over £1000.
