News: Daniel Sloss Palladium Gig Goes Ahead – New Date And Now Two Socially Distanced Shows

Australia & New Zealand's Early Reopening For Shows Sees British Comics Included In World's Biggest Events

Hot on the heels of his ground-breaking, global smash-hit ‘Daniel Sloss: X’, and despite the difficulties that 2020 has presented to not just the performing arts but to the global population, now that there is the possibility to do safe, legal and proper live comedy shows with proper live comedy audiences again, Daniel is delighted to be finally be able to bring HUBRIS to London for two shows at The London Palladium on Saturay 31 October, 2020 for covid-secure and socially distanced shows, which will bring the audience together with humour even as they are physically further apart.

Lauded by the ancient Greeks, hubris is the devastating, dangerous and of course exciting character trait that often led to the hero’s downfall. So, how does one of the world’s hottest stand-ups follow up on a extraordinary show like ‘X’ (dealing with sexual assault), or two Netflix specials (streamed in 190 countries, 26 languages) -  ‘DARK’ (about grieving) & ‘Jigsaw’ (credited with over 95,000 breakups and cited in over 200 divorces with fans even bringing their decree nisi’s for him to autograph at shows)? With a phenomenal new show that doesn’t have a theme or a twist or require any trigger warnings. ‘Daniel Sloss: HUBRIS’ is the next chapter in this Odyssey.

Daniel has sold out six New York solo off-Broadway seasons, appeared on U.S TV’s ‘Conan’ ten times, broken box office records at the world’s biggest arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and has to date, toured across an astonishing 50 countries, the most of any comedian working to today. The ‘X’ tour juggernaut spanned the globe with 300 performances across 40 countries – throughout Europe, UK, U.S., Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and even packing a Moscow arena (becoming Russia’s biggest-ever English language comedy show).

The film of ‘X’ is now showing on HBO in U.S. and Canada and became the first UK comedy special to make its UK premiere in cinemas, with its nationwide release at Vue in 2020, just before Covid-19 shut the world down.  His debut book “Everyone You Hate is Going to Die” was also delayed and will now be published in May 2021 on Penguin Random House imprints Knopf and William Heinemann.

Due to COVID-19 most of Daniel’s 2020 tour dates had to be moved to 2021, however as venues are being permitted to safely re-open, he has become the first stand-up in the world back touring with indoor shows, playing Covid-secure venues with socially distanced audiences ranging from midscale regional venues to large theatres including the London Palladium and AFAS Live in Amsterdam, with shows selling out as fast as they can be added.

Sloss has also added an extra night to his run at the Clapham Grand on November 7. Buy tickets here.

*  The London Palladium date has been moved from Friday 30 October to Saturday 31 October in order to facilitate the new Covid-19 secure seating arrangements. By adding the Saturday matinee show time rather than a late show on a Friday to be able to accommodate all ticket holders in their ‘booking bubbles’, it was felt it would be more convenient for Daniel’s audience to travel in and out of the city centre safely and in a relaxed manner so they could enjoy the show and perhaps grab a bit to eat.

About the Palladium

Events at The London Palladium fully comply with the Government's current Coronavirus and social distancing guidelines. Across the theatre, we have reconfigured our seating to ensure that audience bubbles are seated at least 1m apart. This includes respacing rows in the stalls to guarantee a 1m distance in front and behind and beside each group.

The spacing between our seats is part of a wide suite of health and safety measures (including mandatory face coverings). More information can be found in our Audience Guide.
