Musical comedian Jon Courtenay has been crowned Britain's Got Talent 2020 Champion.
The top three acts were:
Thrd place went to Steve Royle
Second place went to choir Sign Along with Us.
And the winner was Jon Courtenay.
He moved viewers to tears and laughter with his jaunty, funny, touching song about Covid-19 and 2020, flicking his face mask into the air, looking forward to a day when they will be a thing of the past and ending in a rousing finale.
Courtenay wins £250,000 and a gig at the Royal Variety Performance.
The other finalists were dancing duo, Aaron and Jasmine; magician, Magical Bones; stand-up comedian Nabil Abdulrashid (pictured), who whipped up a Twitter storm with another astute poliically charged funny set. Just before his rountine aired he tweeted: "Ofcom meltdown in 5...4...3....2...." After the results fellow comic Aurie Styla tweeted: "Top 3 or not... We are all so proud of @Nabilu... what a class act and a credit to british UK comedy!!!"
Through by public vote were father and son magic duo, James and Dylan Piper; and magicians Damien O’Brien, Jasper Cherry and Aidan McCann.
Courtenay was overcome by the victory and said: "I don't know how you're coping mum, I hope you're still alive."
He will be on This Morning this Monday at 10am.
