The leading showcase for female comedy talent in the UK and Ireland, the Funny Women Awards, has announced its Stage Award Finalists.
Now in their 16th year, previous winners and finalists of the Funny Women Awards include Katherine Ryan, Zoe Lyons, Jayde Adams, Desiree Burch, Harriet Braine, Sara Pascoe, Sarah Millican, Susan Calman, Rachel Parris, Bridget Christie, Kerry Godliman and Roisin Conaty, with Thanyia Moore as the current title holder.

Now in their fifteenth year, the Funny Women Awards have announced the finalists for the Stage Award.
The awards received a record number of registrations this year - the Stage Award, alone, received over 400 entries and in total nearly 1,000 registrations and nominations for acts and shows were considered.
The finalists for the 2017 Funny Women Awards Comedy Shorts Award have been announced and are revealed below.
There were over 150 entries which were whittled down by Comedy Shorts director Becky Singh in partnership with Comedy Central.
Now in their fifteenth year, the Funny Women Awards have received a record number of applicants - the Stage Award, alone, received over 400 entries. That number has now been pruned down to 70 female comedians who will compete at this month’s regional final stage.
The top ten female-led shows in contention for the Funny Women Best Show 2017 have been revealed. The line-up is based on votes sent in - the quotes below come from the fans who nominated the shows.
The winner will be announced at the Funny Women charity gala final on Monday 12th March at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftsbury Avenue, London.

Comedy brand Funny Women is looking for a new sponsor after parting ways with most recent sponsors Benefit Cosmetics.
If we wanted to get all political about it Funny Women shouldn’t exist. Comedians are comedians, why should gender even enter into it? But it does and the Funny Women organisation is clearly tapping into something. This year’s final was staged at a bigger venue than usual and it was absolutely packed. For the first time in as long as I can remember I had to review a gig perched on a step at the back of a room.
The winner of this year's Funny Women Final has been chosen.
It is musical comedian Harriet Braine.
The final took place at Koko in Camden Town. It was sponsored by Benefit Cosmetics and judged by a panel of comedy industry experts.
