Sara Pascoe is to adapt Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice for the Nottingham Playhouse.
The new production, part of Giles Croft's final season as artistic director, will include music by singer Emmy the Great and will open on 19 September with previews from 15 September.

The shortlist of nominees has been confirmed today for the Increasingly Prestigious Malcolm Hardee Comedy Awards.
The winners will be announced at a show at Gillie Dhu on Friday at 11.55pm which is free. Info here.
The results have been announced of this year's Edinburgh Comedy Poster Awards.
There were two awards given out, both with a prize money of £1500.
The audience award was won by Desiree Burch. Her poster for ‘This is Evolution’ had the most votes of the competition, despite runner-up Kai Humphries pushing 18,000 hits to the site in the last day of the competition and taking second place.
Josh Widdicombe and his co-presenter Georgie Ainslie are both leaving the Radio 5 sports show Fighting Talk.
After two seasons at the helm of the award winning Saturday morning quiz Widdicombe and Ainslie are both standing down due to their increasingly busy schedules.
