David Tennant Does A Podcast With... is a podcast for intimate conversations with the biggest names in film, TV, comedy and politics. In episode seven, out today, David talks to Australian musician Tim Minchin.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced that Tim Minchin will be opening and closing this year’s star-studded Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards 2020 with a special musical performance.
Following the release of his first single “Leaving LA”, Australian performer Tim Minchin has released the follow up track “I’ll Take Lonely Tonight” from his upcoming album “Apart Together” due November 2020. The new track is an exquisitely wrought anthemic ballad, digging into the touchy topic of fidelity in typical Minchin style. “I’ll Take Lonely Tonight” is available now.
Groundbreaking Australian musician Tim Minchin today releases the first single from his debut studio album via BMG.
The single, Leaving LA, is a bittersweet break up song with the place he called ‘home’ for four years. A little sad and a little funny, it is a predictably sardonic and poignant song on the conundrum that is La-La Land.
The transmission date has been confirmed for the new series Upright, starring Tim Minchin and Milly Alcock. It is set to air on 28th November on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
Also written by Minchin, Upright follows two misfits thrown together by chance in the middle of the Australian desert, who forge the unlikeliest of bonds in their quest to get a precious piano from one side of the country to the other.
Update 5/9: Extra dates have been added due to demand in London, Ipswich, Oxford, Sheffield, Nottingham, Manchester, Plymouth, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Brighton and Southend.
Tim Minchin and newcomer Milly Alcock are to star in a sharp-tongued and touching comedy drama called Upright set on a 4,000km road trip from Sydney to Perth with a piano in tow.
Tim Minchin will be joining the line-up for the Bicentenary Variety Night of the Old Vic in London this Saturday 12 May to perform a couple of numbers.
