Breeders, the honest and uncompromising comedy about the challenges of parenthood, has been renewed for a third series. Starring Emmy and BAFTA-winning Martin Freeman (Fargo, Sherlock, Black Panther) and International Emmy and BAFTA-nominated Daisy Haggard (Back to Life, Episodes, Black Mirror), the renewal coincides with the launch of the second series on Sky One and streaming service NOW on Thursday 27 May. All ten episodes will be available on demand.
Following a 16-week suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the second season of FX and Sky’s acclaimed comedy series Breeders has resumed production. Shooting adhering to strict protocols begins today in Greater London, England. Breeders is produced by Avalon and FX Productions for FX Networks and Sky Originals.
My partner and I had a right old exchange of views about the new parenthood comedy Breeders. A bit like the disagreements that Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard have in the show but with less swearing. I lost count of the number of fucks that Freeman in particular comes out with, but if this was intended as authenticity then parents swear a fuck of a lot more now than they did when I was first a dad.
Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard star in a new Sky original comedy, exploring the paradox that every parent knows but never admits; you would willingly die for your children, but quite often you also want to kill them. Martin Freeman stars as Paul, a caring father discovering he’s not quite the man he thought he was. His partner in this impossibly steep parental climb is Ally (Daisy Haggard), who runs a recording studio, makes Paul laugh and can read a story to their children while she's technically asleep.
Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard are to star in new comedy Breeders, created by Freeman alongside comedian Chris Addison and writer Simon Blackwell.
The 10-part series, which will be produced by Avalon Television and will air on Sky One, will expose the paradox of parenting that it is possible to love your child and be infuriated by them at the same time. Freeman stars as a caring father discovering he’s not quite the man he thought he was.
Principal photography has started on Ghost Stories, the film based on the original Olivier nominated stage production. The film is co-written and directed by Jeremy Dyson (writer The League of Gentlemen, Psychobitches) and Andy Nyman (The Commuter, Severance) who co-wrote and directed the original stage production.
A transmission date has been confirmed for the second series of Brian Pern: A Life in Rock. The new series will start on BBC2 on December 9.
It is hard to believe it, but it is ten years ago that zombie apocalypse romcom classic Shaun of the Dead was first released. The UK release was on April 9, 2004. To mark the occasion the scripts of Shaun, alongside the scripts of the other two films in “The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy” – Hot Fuzz and The World’s End – have now very kindly been made available to download free, complete with previously unseen sketches, lesser known facts, curious squiggles and background trivia.
