Tracey Ullman
Comedy icons Tracey Ullman and Jo Brand will both be appearing at the BFI Southbank this November to discuss their lives, humour and their comedy influences.
These special events will take place on November 14 and November 27 respectively as part of the current Comedy Genius season.
Tracey Ullman is the first subject in a new series of The South Bank Show on Sky Arts.
The series will showcase six women from across the arts: comedian Tracey Ullman, soul singer Beverley Knight, opera star Danielle de Niese, theatre producer Sonia Friedman, publishing powerhouse Gail Rebuck and a special show highlighting the importance of the arts in education, featuring 2018 Global Teacher Prize winner, Andria Zafirakou.
Tracey Ullman is set to return to UK television for three new episodes of Tracey Breaks The News, featuring her unique comic spin on the headlines, including her impressions of politicians and celebrities.
The star is pictured here in the guise of Michael Gove.
The programmes will be filmed close to transmission and will see the seven times Emmy award winner tackle topical stories and current issues in a sketch show written and filmed right up to the day of broadcast.
The first picture has been released of Tracey Ullman as Prime Minister (at the time of writing) Theresa May.
The image comes from Tracey Breaks The News, a one-off special which is broadcast tonight, Friday 23rd June, at 9.30pm on BBC1
By their supporting cast shalt thou know them. Or something. The first episode of the second series of Tracey Ullman’s return to British sketch show comedy features an enviable cast list of contemporary comedians and actors.
