A new book charting comedian Billy Connolly's gigging adventures is to be published later this year by Two Roads, an imprint of John Murray Press. Rambling Man: My Life on the Road will be published on 12th October, with Connolly narrating the audiobook.

Glasgow’s Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren, The Herald & Times Editor-in-Chief Catherine Salmond and Elaine C Smith are among the 11 judges who will shortlist nominations and make recommendations to Sir Billy Connolly, who will then have the final say on the first ever winner of the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award.

It's been a good festive season for comedy documentaries, particularly if you like your comedians with long flowing hair. Christmas has been bookended for me by two docs about two fantastic comedians who are among the best in the game. In the case of Billy Connolly, probably the best. Though Micky Flanagan is certainly no slouch either.
At the heart of a season of programmes will be a new six-part series Billy And Us. The new series, which starts on May 14 at 10pm has the Big Yin himself reflecting on his life alongside treasures from the archives.
