Zone of Champions is a new ITV comedy clip show presented by Jack Bullman and Nicky Brimble – better known as comic actors John Thomson and Jessica Knappett.
This is the show where we see anything from a horse playing football to escalator racing pensioners – all in the guise of epic sporting contests.
This new six-part series will celebrate the bizarre and the wonderful where everything is a sport and anyone can be crowned a Champion.
John Thomson was presented with a Legend of Comedy Award at last night's North West Comedy Awards, which took place at the Frog & Bucket in Manchester.
The Cold Feet star was one of the northern comics honoured at the event which was sponsored by Chewies Bar in Barnoldswick.
The big winner was Paul Smith, pictured, who has built up a huge following through his appearances at the Hot Water Club in Liverpool – which also won an award - and through his social media clips.
Filming has started on the highly-anticipated eighth series of ITV and Big Talk Productions’ Cold Feet.
Created by Mike Bullen, Cold Feet stars James Nesbitt, Hermione Norris, Robert Bathurst, Fay Ripley and John Thomson as the nation’s favourite friends as we follow their lives in Manchester.
John Thomson is best known for his performances onscreen. He has shown his comic chops in The Fast Show and in his work with Steve Coogan and in much more and he has also shown his acting chops in Cold Feet. He is currently filming a new series of Cold Feet to go out later this year. Now Thomson has stepped behind the cameras to executive produce Dying Laughing, a fascinating documentary about the art of comedy.
Comedians have commented on the atrocity at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.
Jason Manford, who is from Greater Manchester and has five young children, went on Facebook live. He broke down in tears when he said that his children are fans of the singer and if he had known about the concert he might have taken them.
