Broadcaster Nicholas Parsons left £25,000 in his will to pay for a party for friends.
According to The Sun, The late Just A Minute host, who died aged 96 last January, wanted to money to pay for a celebratory night.
The comedian told them: “It should celebrate happy memories, not be a sad farewell.”
Radio 4 will pay tribute to the late broadcasting legend, Nicholas Parsons CBE, with an evening of programmes on what would have been his 97th birthday, Saturday 10 October. A new documentary and specially chosen highlights from the archive covering Nicholas’ outstanding career will give listeners a chance to delight again in his humour as well as to learn more about his life.

Parsons had a lengthy career in comedy and broadcasting and was best known as the quickwitted, genial host of Radio 4 show Just A Minute which he fronted, missing only a few occasions, since it started in 1967.
