Craig Ferguson and Robert Lindsay are the latest names to join the lineup of guest stars each appearing in the West End transfer of Mark Evan’s Dickens mash up Bleak Expectations.
Craig Ferguson said: “ I’m delighted to be taking a brief sojourn from the self-aggrandizing hyperbolic world of American showbiz to be part of what many people are saying will be the greatest theatrical production of all time”.
An additional four guest stars have been added to the list of names who will play the role of Sir Philip Bin in Caroline Leslie’s irresistible production of Mark Evans’ glorious comedy mash-up Bleak Expectations. Julian Clary, Dermot O’Leary, Sally Philips and Nina Wadia join the list of names previously announced. Each will play the part of Sir Philip Bin for one week. A schedule of dates can be found below.
Caroline Leslie’s irresistible production of Mark Evans’ glorious comedy mash-up Bleak Expectations will open in preview at the Criterion Theatre from 3 May. The production will have a press night on 18 May and performances will run until 3 September. This stage adaptation of the award-winning BBC Radio 4 comedy of the same name, will feature each week a very special guest star in the role of Sir Philip (“Pip”) Bin.
A stage version of the Radio 4 comedy hit Bleak Expectations is set to open the new season at Newbury’s The Watermill Theatre in May.
The adaptation is written by Mark Evans and directed by Caroline Leslie (Trial by Laughter, The Wiper’s Times) ), running from Friday 27 May until Saturday 2 July, in association with Anthology Theatre Productions and David Wolstencroft.
