Award-winning musical Operation Mincemeat has extended for the 19th time at the West End’s Fortune Theatre, with performances now running until 29th May 2027, taking the production into its fifth year in the West End.

Saturday night’s first preview of Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical hit a bit of a snag. The specialty lightbulbs required for the show’s retro, 1940s-style marquee had to remain unlit for the occasion – an unheard-of occurrence in glittering Times Squareare. The bulbs are sourced in bulk from a China-based vendor, and the shipment was held up by customs due to a delay related to the recently enacted tariffs.

The Olivier Award®-winning ‘Best New Musical’ Operation Mincemeat, created by a quartet of young British creatives, will open on Broadway at the Golden Theatre - its first musical since the Tony Award® Triple Crown winner Avenue Q - on 20th March 2025. From 15th February, when previews begin on Broadway, Operation Mincemeat will run simultaneously in New York and London, with the West End’s Fortune Theatre recently receiving an incredible 10th extension from ATG through 8th March.
