The hit David Mitchell series Ludwig is one of the nominees in the Broadcast Awards just announced. It is nominated for Best Comedy Programme alongside Inside No 9, Boarders, G'Wed, Things You Should Have Done and Changing Ends
Richard Gadd's Baby Reindeer is nominated for Best Drama Series Or Serial, as is The Reckoning, the Jimmy Savile drama starring Steve Coogan.
A League of their Own, The 1% Club and The Traitors are among the nominees in Best Entertainment Programme.
Ludwig, the hit detective series starring David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin, will return to BBC iPlayer and BBC One after a stellar first run. The series captivated audiences, attracting over 9.5 million viewers, making it the BBC’s biggest scripted show of the year to date, the largest since 2022. It’s the biggest launch for a comedy since at least 2018.
When John ‘Ludwig’ Taylor’s (David Mitchell) identical twin, James, disappears, John takes over his brother’s identity in a quest to discover his whereabouts. John has never married, never had a family and never really ventured further than his own front door. He lives in quiet solitude, designing puzzles for a living, under the nom-de-plume of ‘Ludwig’.
