Felicity Ward
Comedian Felicity Ward is to play the lead in an Australian version of The Office. She will be the first woman to play the lead role in a version of the sitcom created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.
The series will be co-produced by Amazon Studios, BBC Studios ANZ and Bunya Entertainment and is the thirteenth adaptation of the original which launched on BBC Two in 2001.
The Stand Up Sketch Show returns to TV for a fourth series later this month.
The series, in which comedians do their routines onstage and then parts of their routines are then acted out in sketch versions, starts on ITV2 on Monday, January 31 at 10pm.
Comedian Felicity Ward is to star in the UK premiere of the new satirical play.
Australian whirlwind Felicity Ward is relatively restrained this year. Last year’s show was about her problems with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and her fear of not getting to the toilet on time. This year her new show, 50% More Likely to Die - the stat relates to people who suffer from anxiety and depression - is more of a relatable story of everyday angst.
