Social media has been divided over Alan Carr's performance as host of the Royal Variety Performance which was broadcast on Sunday evening on ITV1.
Some viewers were particularly upset about his remark about Geronimo the alpaca. There was also a cheeky quip about telling Prince William that he was not hitting on the Duchess of Cambridge.
@MiMe1958 tweeted: "Your sick comment about #Geronimo on the @RoyalVariety was totally uncalled for. You should be ashamed. You've got dogs haven't you? How would you feel if your healthy dogs were forcefully taken away & killed. Think about how his owner must feel"

At another point Carr did a duet with James Blunt which some viewers were not happy with. @acci0horcrux: "Nah Alan carr is pissing me right off stop interrupting James Blunt’s song mate"
