Comedian Alan Carr has topped a survey of the UK's most famous comedians. Based on research into public responses 97% of the nation has heard of the chatty stand-up, whose early life has recently been turned into the hit ITVX sitcom Changing Ends.
David Walliams also scored 97% in terms of fame but he rated slightly lower in terms of popularity. The Little Britain star is probably less known as a comedian these days and better known as a children's author and former Britain's Got Talent judge.
There seems to be a bit of a rash of sitcoms asking for your attention at the moment, with Mr Bigstuff on Sky and Piglets on ITV1. But the best of the bunch is Changing Ends, which has just returned for a second series and is airing back to back with copper comedy Piglets. Saturday night feels like an odd time to broadcast one sitcom, never mind two, but if you can't cancel your social engagements and stay in for them they are all on ITVX whenever you like.
With England's success at the Euros the timing couldn't be better for the second series of Alan Carr's soccer sitcom Changing Ends.
Following the success of the first series, which launched in September 2023, the addictive quiz show is back for a second series with added pressure and more pictures that will have you shouting answers at your TV screen!
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Judge and Interior Design Masters Presenter, funny man Alan Carr hosts Picture Slam, a fun and fast-paced quiz where every question is a picture and every picture is worth cash. They could be anything from famous faces and places to brands and logos, films and TV shows, toys and animals or things you buy in the supermarket. In this quiz, the teams need to know something about everything to get that all important Picture Slam!
So as one feelgood soccer sitcom ends another one begins. Following on swiftly from the final whistle blowing on Ted Lasso here's Changing Ends, Alan Carr's coming of age comedy about being an 11-year-old growing uo in Northampton in the 1980s.
Alan Carr's autobiographical comedy Changing Ends is coming to ITVX in June.
Changing Ends is co-written by the BAFTA award winning Carr and the Scottish BAFTA & RTS award winning Simon Carlyle (Two Doors Down), based on Alan’s own life in Northampton in the 1980’s growing up as the son of a fourth division football manager.
Alan Carr is to host Picture Slam on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, in his first BBC Saturday night quiz show.
Picture Slam will see three teams face a series of pictures and each picture is worth cash. The more they can name the more they win, but for the big money they need to name them ALL , and if they do that, they’ve got a Picture Slam!
