The broadcast date has been revealed for the new series of Outsiders. David Mitchell will challenge a brand new set of comedians to prove they can fend for themselves and demonstrate they have the skills to set up a new society in the wild from November 16 at 10pm on Dave.
The comedians taking part in series two of Outsiders are Maisie Adam, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Darren Harriott, Jessica Hynes, Phil Wang and Joe Wilkinson.
David Mitchell said “I’m so glad that Outsiders is coming back and I can’t wait to really get stuck in to the routine of going home to a comfortable bed every evening, leaving a bunch of comedians to fend for themselves in the mud and scratch some sort of civilisation out of the dust.”
Outsiders is commissioned for UKTV by Hilary Rosen, deputy director of commissioning, and Mark Iddon, commissioning editor, and ordered for Dave by Cherie Cunningham, Dave channel director. Richard Watsham is director of commissioning and Steve North is genre general manager, comedy and entertainment. Outsiders is co-produced by Renegade Pictures and That Mitchell and Webb Company. Executive producers are Harry Lansdown, Victoria Payne and Leon Wilde.
Mark Iddon said, “We loved making season one with David and his gang of comics and very excited to do it all again with a fresh batch of recruits. Let’s see what the great British outdoors (and David) can throw at them this time.”
Cherie Cunningham said, “We knew that Dave viewers would love seeing David Mitchell bring his unique comic voice to the channel and it’s a pleasure to welcome Outsiders back for more.”
Harry Lansdown said, “I’m delighted to be returning to the woods with such a talented gang of comedians to see if they can build back better without the normal trappings of modern civilisation!”
Outsiders joins a host of comedy entertainment series on Dave. BAFTA-winning Big Zuu’s Big Eats, Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable, Late Night Mash and Question Team will all return later this year. Dave is also committed to scripted comedy, with Sneakerhead, starring Hugo Chegwin and Big Zuu and written by Gillian Roger Park, Larry Rickard and Ben Willbond’s alien invasion comedy We Are Not Alone, starring Declan Baxter, Joe Thomas, Vicki Pepperdine and Mike Wozniak, and four pilots commissioned as part of the UKTV WriterSlam competition.
