The results of the Midlands Comedy Awards have been revealed.

The winners and placings in the main categories are as follows:

Runner-up: Jon Pearson
Third Place: Dave Longley

Best New Act

Winner: Chris Yates
Runner-up: Dan Lythe

Best Live Show

Winner: Josh Pugh
Runners-up: Benny Shakes
Third place: Scott Bennett

Best Comedy Club

Winner: Glee Club - Birmingham
Runner-up: Funhouse Comedy
Third place: Fat Theo's

Best Small Club

Winner: Holly Bush
Runners-up: Rockcentral
Third place: Laffa Cake

The Midlands Comedy Awards were established in 2014 and recognise the achievements of Midlands-based comedy writers, performers, producers and promoters. Awards are handed out annually in December, with nominees chosen by industry and winners decided by public vote. Eligibility is based on residence in any of the following English counties:

Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands or Worcestershire.

"The Midlands Comedy Awards were established to recognise the huge number of hard working and talented people in our regional comedy community. These are the individuals who bring laughter to thousands across the Midlands and beyond every year, and the Awards Gala is our big annual celebration for the regional scene."
