BBC Studios Comedy Productions is bolstering its team with the appointment of current Head of Jax UK, Molly Seymour, into the newly created role of Creative Director. Reporting to Head of Comedy Josh Cole, Seymour will take up the post in January 2024 to work on a rich and varied slate of scripted comedies and comedy dramas.
Seymour joins the producer of Inside No. 9, Good Omens, Trying and Black Ops with 14 years of experience in the TV and Film industry and having set up projects in the UK and US with Channel 4, BBC, Showtime, HBO Max, Sky and AMC. She most recently launched the UK arm of Jax Media (Broad City, Emily in Paris, Search Party, Russian Doll) and has worked with top emerging and established UK talent.
Molly developed and produced Dillon Mapletoft and Oliver Taylor’s Everyone Else Burns for Jax Media UK and Universal International Studios, launching to critical acclaim on Channel 4 and The CW in America. She also produced short form series Peck’Eds with writer/performer Soph Galustian for BBC Three.
Previously Molly was in development at Baby Cow where she produced Jon Pointing’s short form series for BBC Three. Before Baby Cow, Molly was assistant producer to Richard Curtis across Red Nose Day as well as films About Time and Esio Trot.
Announcing the appointment Josh Cole, Head of Comedy at BBC Studios Productions said: “We’re delighted to be bringing someone of Molly’s skill, creativity, and dynamism to the team. Molly has a fine comic mind, impeccable talent relationships and knows exactly how to nurture the next generation of comedy and comedy drama. I’m thrilled she’s joining BBC Studios Productions.”

Today BBC Studios Comedy Productions is going from strength to strength with recent BAFTA winning shows Inside No. 9 and Brain in Gear; alongside Good Omens for Prime Video; Trying for Apple TV+; A Whole Lifetime With Jamie Demetriou for Netflix which was recently honoured at the prestigious Rose d’Or Awards; the upcoming Mammoth; Here We Go, Diane Morgan’s Mandy, Ladhood and Black Ops; alongside long-running BBC hits Two Doors Down and Mrs Brown’s Boys.
