Rarely Asked Questions: Farah Sharp
What do your parents think of your job?

Both of them have been to shows and are supportive of me pursuing something that i am passionate about, which is awesome. Did they think it was a sensible, stable choice? No, but neither do i.

What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?

You can’t crack jokes with your friends anymore without them thinking you are trying out a bit. which you usually are.

Ah this is the existential stuff i was referring to above. Help!

How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?

Wait, is this a salary negotiation? in which case, my typical rate is a million pounds per interview.

How important is luck in terms of career success – have you had lucky breaks?

I flipped a coin to decide between this or cage fighting, so I'd say luck was crucial.

Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories - golfers and self-harmers. the former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. which are you – or do you think you fit into third category?

Third category – i'm a tortured golfer. often surrounded by balls and bogies against my will.

Who is your favourite person ever and why – not including family or friends or other comedians?

I once saw an old man attempting pull ups on the tube to show off to his wife, and i thought that was pretty legendary. No-one has topped that yet.

Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why not? (please think long and hard about this question, it's to settle an argument with my girlfriend. the future of our relationship could depend on your
response).

My drawers are extremely tidy, mainly because they are mostly empty – the majority of my stuff is strewn on the floor.
