Edinburgh Run for Sarah Keyworth's Award-Winning Show Followed By National Tour

Sarah Keyworth is bringing Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Most Outstanding Show, My Eyes Are Up Here, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and will be extending their tour around the UK and Ireland - including a performance at the London Palladium.

Last year was a big year for Keys (Keyworth). They turned thirty, got diagnosed with ADHD and had top surgery, but perhaps the biggest adjustment was the revelation that maybe their mum has been right all along? Not about everything obviously, but Keys must concede that on teen drinking and being “forced” to go on holiday, Keyworth Sr probably had some solid points.

On their choice to have top surgery, they feel lucky in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to the people they have around them.  That said, it was a long road and there’s still conversations to be had about their gender identity and what this means in a world that seems increasingly hard on gender non-conforming people.

As they go home for the first time post-surgery, to celebrate their mum’s own milestone birthday, it’s the conversations with their nearest and dearest that have them reflecting and asking some big questions. What does acceptance look like? Who is it important to be accepted by? Is it OK to dance around your family kitchen with your new nipples out? If not, why not?

On bringing My Eyes Are Up Here to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Keys says: “I am delighted to be returning to the Monkey Barrel with my brand new show. I just hope the audience recognises me without the fun-bags.”

After completing their run with the show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Keys will tour the show around the UK and Ireland into next year, including a performance at the London Palladium.

Sarah Keyworth is an award-winning stand-up comedian and writer. Last year they released the second series of their BBC Radio 4 show Are You A Boy Or A Girl? which explores Keyworth’s personal journey of being non-binary. Their TV credits include appearances on Live At The Apollo (BBC), Mock The Week (BBC Two, RIP) and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4). They have also amassed a loyal following on social media with 404k followers on Instagram and 381.4k on TikTok.

My Eyes Are Up Here will be Keyworth’s fourth show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show won Most Outstanding Show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. It has had a successful run at the Soho Theatre and at the Melbourne and Sydney Comedy Festivals and will be touring throughout the UK and Ireland after the Edinburgh run There will also be a performance at the London Palladium. Keyworth’s debut show Dark Horse won a Herald Angel Award, Pleasance Theatre Award and was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award. It was filmed and is available to stream on Amazon Prime. Their subsequent stand-up specials Pacific and Lost Boy also received widespread acclaim.
