The winners of the Comedy Poster Awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe have been announced.

The judges’ choice of Panel Award was presented to the illustrated poster Deep Fried in Patter, by James Lawrence, for Scottish comics Iain Pringle and Paddy Linton’s double-bill show.

The other shortlisted entrants were Abi Clarke: (Role) Model, Amy Gledhill: Make Me Look Fit on the Poster, Chonk, and Hot Ghoul Summer.

Meanwhile, the public-voted Audience Award went to Abi Clarke: (Role) Model.

The eye-catching poster was designed by Jonny Woolley and photographed by Dylan Woodley with make-up by Olivia Davey.

The rest of the shortlist was comprised of: Adam Greene: Healthy Beast, Bad Clowns: HOSTAGE, Chonk, and Christian Dart: Bigger Than The Christmas Turkey.

Each of the two winners will receive a package of free poster placements on Edinburgh’s streets for their 2024 shows, courtesy of the city council’s advertising partner, Out of Hand.

Comedy producer Gina Lyons, founder of the Comedy Poster Awards, says: "I'm thrilled with the two winners this year. Posters have to do a lot of heavy lifting in a city so full of them, and these two stood out to the audience and the judges because they are, in a word, brilliant."

The winners share £500 cash from Lyons’s Gobby Girl Productions, and Clarke also gets a £600+ value package of poster placements around Edinburgh at the 2025 festival, courtesy of Out of Hand.

The Comedy Poster Awards will return at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
