Pleasance Announces First Edinburgh Fringe Shows

The Pleasance has announced its first batch of Edinburgh Fringe shows.

Las Vegas headliner and global sensation Tape Face returns to the Edinburgh Fringe where it all started for him 20 years ago, with a-new show. Physical comedy, mime and silent stand-up collide in this unforgettable performance that will leave you laughing, gasping and lost for words. Tape Face has to be seen to be believed.

Miriam Margolyes returns with more characters, more Dickens and more fascinating stories about the man behind the classics in Margolyes & Dickens: More Best Bits. At 84, Miriam’s energy and passion are undimmed and her performance as electric as ever with hilarious new anecdotes and unapologetic opinions. There’s even an opportunity for your questions in an unfiltered free-for- all of outrageous honesty.

Trainspotting Live is back following eight sell-out Fringe seasons. This acclaimed immersive adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s classic novel, staged in a bespoke venue, makes the audience part of the action, including the notorious ‘worst toilet in Scotland’ scene.

After sold-out runs in Edinburgh and London in 2024, Australia’s favourite workplace wankers Wankernomics are back with a brand-new show. Delivered in the form of an agonising all-staff meeting, Just Touching Base is a hilarious real-time demonstration of the buzzwords, bureaucracy and bullsh*t of modern working life. Wankernomics’ blend of observational comedy and dark satire has notched up millions of views online.

Paul Merton & Suki Webster’s Improv Show return with an hour of sensational improvised comedy hosted by two of the UK’s masters of improvisation with very special guests. Expect fast, fabulously funny improvised games, scenes, stories and laugh out loud surrealism.

In Getting Triggy With It: Matt Parker Does the Maths, it’s time this NYT best-selling author and sold-out Edinburgh Festival Fringer gives maths a good doing. It's time he programmes his own Christmas tree lights and then 11,184,024 people watch his downfall (and counting). It's time he shares his hand-crafted maths code online only for viewers to improve it by 40,832,277,770%. It's time he shaped-up and crawled out from under the square named after him.

The Olivier Award–winning West End hit Showstopper! The Improvised Musical is back for a 16th year! Every night is opening night for the hottest new musical in town; there's just one problem – the writer hasn't written a note and needs your help... A hilarious musical is made up on the spot using audience suggestions in the show that, no doubt, completes the Edinburgh experience!

With more shows to be announced over the coming months there will be comedy, theatre, circus, magic, dance, kids’ shows and much more.

Tickets for all shows are available at www.pleasance.co.uk and 0131 556 6550.
