The world premiere of Cosmic Genome’s The Quest for Wonder, starring comedian Robin Ince and physicist Brian Cox alongside their puppet counterparts, will be held at the Science Museum’s IMAX Theatre as part of Science Museum Lates. The screening will take place at 7:30pm on 30th March 2016. After the screening, the cast and crew will be available for a Q&A. The event is free but tickets will be required so book here now to guarantee a seat.
Filmed at the Science Museum, The Quest for Wonder follows the puppets as they attempt to track down Brian’s missing Wonder - because, as puppet Brian explains, without his Wonder “it’s just equations with great hair”. This exciting project brings together comedy and puppetry to take its audience on a journey to delight and amuse adults and children alike, while piquing their interest in all things scientific along the way. Think Sesame Street meets BBC Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage.
Ince and Cox said “When masters of puppetry and felt made new, and frankly better, versions of us, it seemed natural to let them loose in the Science Museum and see what would happen. Some people think they don't like science as if it's just a subject rather than a method of prodding and a investigating pretty much anything you are curious about. The mission of our puppet selves, and even the real us, is to infect as many people as possible with fascination”.
Writer/Director Trent Burton added “Trunkman Productions have had a blast working with The Science Museum to make ‘The Quest For Wonder’ a reality and we’re looking forward to screening it, and sharing a few behind the scenes stories, later this month! The Science Museum will be open until 10pm on 30th so there’s lots of time for you to find some wonder of your own too!”
From April all six 6-minute episodes of The Quest of Wonder will be available to view online free of charge via Cosmic Genome and Science Museum blog, with some exclusive bonus content for Cosmic Genome app subscribers.
