Since Car Share series two premiered on BBC One and the entire series launched on BBC iPlayer the four episodes have occupied the top four slots of requested programmes on BBC iPlayer and amassed over 2.5 million requests in total. Never before have all episodes of one series appeared in the very top slots of iPlayer’s most popular programmes.
In addition, following a return to BBC One with 6.5 million people tuning in to episode one on Tuesday 11th April, a further 1.5 million have watched on repeat.

Series 2 of Car Share picks up on the relationship between assistant manager John Redmond (Peter Kay) and promotions assistant Kayleigh Kitson (Sian Gibson) from Series 1 which won 2 BAFTA awards. John now finds himself making a long detour each day to keep up their daily commute and the personal journey they find themselves on.*
