Deep breath...Mark Gatiss spoke at the Oxford Union this week. As well as addressing a chamber full of undergraduates he was also interviewed and answered questions during a Q&A.
Inevitably he was asked about the frequently discussed League of Gentlemen television reunion, previously reported here. When it was last mentioned by Gatiss and Reece Shearsmith on social media the theory was that the reunion would coincide with the 20th anniversary of the first TV series which would be 2019. When the Oxford Union interviewer mentioned a transmission date of 2019 or 2020 Gatiss pointed out that all he had actually said on the matter was that it would be "an anniversary" and they could hold on to the idea until "the fiftieth anniversary". So there may be a longer wait. Then again he did confirm that he and the other Gentlemen have had meetings, have had some good ideas and are hoping to film something this year. So maybe fans won't have to wait another fifty years for that reunion. And breathe...
