A new trailer has been released to promote the forthcoming eighth series of inside No 9. and the date of the new series has been revealed. Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton’s award-winning series returns to BBC Two on Thursday 27th April at 10pm with five brand new unique stories, filled with dark comedy and heart-stopping horror.
Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith bring five more stand-alone episodes of their critically acclaimed and BAFTA Award-winning series, Inside No. 9, to BBC Two this spring.
Produced by BBC Studios Comedy Productions and broadcast on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, a first-look image is today released along with full casting details.
Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton have talked recently of putting their TV series Inside No 9 onstage. And in a way they've done it here, if they decided to do their own take on the classic suburban sitcom crossed with stage farce. Except that it is written by Dr Who/Sherlock writer Steven Moffat. And Steve Pemberton is not involved. But The Unfriend does star Reece Shearsmith and his League of Gentlemen colleague Mark Gatiss directs. Heck, the house where the action is set even has a shiny Number 9 on the door.

The Bones of St. Nicholas
Award-winning anthology Inside No 9 is to be paused after the ninth series. Some reports have led with the suggestion that it has been axed but this is not the case. Co-creator Steve Pemberton commented on the misleading suggestions on Twitter, posting about being axed after S9: "not true btw lazy headline writers".

Chichester Festival Theatre’s critically acclaimed, sold out production of Steven Moffat’s riotous and effortlessly entertaining comedy The Unfriend will transfer to the Criterion Theatre, previewing from 15 January with a press night on 19 January 2023 and playing until 16 April.
Sadly it's the final episode of the current series of Inside No 9 this Wednesday. After some dazzling guest stars including Diane Morgan and Jessica Hynes it's Reece Shearsmith that takes centre stage as odd young man Ronnie in this chilling episode which has all the hallmarks of an instant Inside classic.
Brilliant guest cast tonight. Daniel Mays, Jason Isaacs plus Daisy Haggard who has previously worked with Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton on their previous BBC Two series, Psychoville.
And that's about all I'm going to reveal about this week's episode, entitled Kid/Nap. It's so hard to preview these brilliant episodes I'm not even going to try. Instead I'll just add what the BBC information offers us:
No chance of any spoilers for this week's episode, Nine Lives Kat, because we haven't seen it yet ourselves.
This is what the BBC advance information says about it.
"Hard-as-nails detective inspector, divorcee and single mum Katrina is determined to crack the case of the missing boy. But there’s also her drinking, her love life and her inner demons. She doesn’t want help, but it turns up anyway."
