Host Jimmy Carr and judge Katherine Ryan are to return for the second series of the hit stand-up roast show Roast Battle. The five new episodes will continue to involve a mix of top comedians going head to head in an attempt to ‘take down’ their opponent. Each episode will culminate in one comedian being crowned the winner by the unforgiving judging panel. The series will air later this autumn on Comedy Central UK. 

The first series, which also featured Russell Brand on the judging panel, proved a programming hit for the channel, smashing all previous ratings records and becoming Comedy Central’s highest-rated UK commission in its history. Roast Battle UK underlines Comedy Central UK’s ongoing push to diversify its British comedy offering and increase the volume of non-scripted comedy it broadcasts, all of which has helped drive the channel to its current position as the #3 entertainment channel.
