Ben Elton is to return to stand-up with his first major tour in over a decade.
Elton promises to try and make sense of a world which appears to have gone stark raving mad in the new show.
The veteran comic says: "The last time I toured I was still smarter than my phone. Things have definitely taken a funny turn."
The 53 date tour starts in Dublin on 27 September and currently finishes in Torquay on 30 November.
Elton first made his name in the 1980s as an angry stand-up comic and also as a writer, co-writting both The Young Ones and three series of Blackadder. He has recently returned to form as a sitcom writer with Shakespearean spoof Upstart Crow starring David Mitchell.
Elton is also the writer of All Is True, a new movie due out in February starring Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench and Ian McKellen about the final years of William Shakespeare.
Tickets for all shows will go on sale on Monday 10 December. Presale Friday December 7 at 10am here.
