
Clive Swift, the actor best known for playing Hyacinth Bucket's husband Richard in Keeping Up Appearances, has ded. He was 82.
Swift played the role in the hit BBC One sitcom for six years opposite Dame Patricia Routledge.
As well as being a respected stage actor he also appeared in many more screen roles including programmes such as Dr Who, Peak Practice, Born and Bred and the sitcom with Roger Lloyd Pack, The Old Guys.
He also appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's 1972 film Frenzy and as King Arthur's adopted father in 1981's Excalibur, directed by John Boorman.
His brother David Swift, who died in 2016, played veteran reporter Henry Davenport in C4 sitcom Drop The Dead Donkey.
