Netflix has removed The League Of Gentlemen from its catalogue.
The network has not commented to clarify the reason for its removal, which has been reported by Deadline. Sometimes programmes are just removed after a while and some fans have said on social media that it was due to 'expire' on June 19.
But the series has faced criticism for the character Papa Lazarou. Although Reece Shearsmith said in an interview when the show returned to TV in 2017 that he never considered Lazarou to be "blackface," and that he associated his make-up with clowns. They do think about what they do and don't just shock people for the sake of it, he added. "We're not monsters."
The League Of Gentlemen remains on iPlayer.
According to a report in The Guardian The Mighty Boosh has also been removed from Netflix. The Spirit of Jazz character in the series was played by Noel Fielding and the Guardian understands it was seen as problematic by the streaming company.
Meanwhile Bo' Selecta has been taken off C4's catch-up service All4 and Netflix has removed four shows from Chris Lilley from its services in Australia and New Zealand.
It has also been noticed on social media that there is no longer any Inbetweeners YouTube channel. It was removed by the channel owner, not by YouTube.
