Robin Ince’s Horizons Tour Diary
Available now
As Robin Ince embarks on the world tour of Horizons – A 21st Century Space Odyssey with Professor Brian Cox, he has decided to keep a diary of their adventures, second hand bookshop finds, local discoveries, artist manifestos, show reports and much more. The diaries are available in written form, with extra video content, on the Cosmic Shambles website but this podcast features extended versions of the entries, clips and extra chat. In the first collection of entries Robin tackles his anxiety about the tour (including how to pack an entire library into your suitcase for international travel), and heads off to New York before the first shows in Washington DC, Manhattan, Philadelphia and beyond.

Throughout 2022
Each year highly respected motorsport journalist and writer Simon Patterson covers thousands of miles around the globe covering the MotoGP world championship. This year’s season features 21 Grand Prix and covers Europe, Asia, Australia and North & South America. Simon almost never even gets home, travelling in a kitted out motorhome van with a lot of down time between events.
Simon wasn’t always a motorsport journalist. His background is in forensic science and he’s also passionate about history. So, in 2022, he plans to take time out to visit and explore some exciting areas of scientific and historic interest on his travels, chat to a few people on the way and share that journey with us all!
From penguin parades in Australia, to fossil fields in Spain to rocket manufacturing sites in Finland and everything else in between. Teaming up with the Cosmic Shambles Network, Simon will be bringing us a unique video travelogue throughout 2022. We have no idea what he might discover. Neither does he. So we’ll also have various members of the Shambles family popping up to give some more scientific and cultural insight into those discoveries too.
The first episode will be released soon as Simon passes through Gibraltar, encountering the famous Barbary macaques. This episode will feature an interview with Dr Marine Joly, world leading expert in macaque and primate cognitive behaviour.
Whilst Robin and Simon head off around the world the Cosmic Shambles Network are continuing to produce the cutting-edge online and live science and arts coverage for which they are famous.
