Ghosts star Kiell Smith-Bynoe is to take over from Sara Pascoe as host of The Great British Sewing Bee. Smith-Bynoe will host a Christmas special and series 10 in 2024. Sara Pascoe has just had a baby, though that has not been officially said to be the reason for the change.

The news was broken on X (formerly known as Twitter) by the Sewing Bee account which posted a picture (here) with Smith-Bynoe alongside judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young and said: "We're bursting at the seams that Kiell Smith-Bynoe has stepped in to host this year’s Christmas Special and Series 10. (Sending lots of love to Sara and her new baby!) #SewingBee".

While fans were sorry to see Sara Pascoe depart (it is not clear if it's permanent or maternity leave) there was a positive response to the news. Helen Jones posted: "Great choice! Kiell has been excellent in everything I’ve seen him in so far…"

Suzi Groers wrote: "Excellent news, Kiell was fantastic on the Bee, will he be making a Santa outfit though?"

Smith-Bynoe will also be seen on the BBC at Christmas in a Ghosts special and is hosting an improv show at the Soho Theatre on Friday, October 27 & Saturday, October 28. Details here.
