Award-winning comic Dave Spikey has extended his Punchlines tour with a series of 2016 dates, kicking off on March 3 in New Brighton.

Before then on February 4 he is appearing in a floods fundraiser for Croston with some of his old Phoenix Nights mates at the Chorley Little Theatre – a matinee and evening show – with Ted Robbins, Steve Royle, Janice Connolly and also Mike Wilkinson. Website here.

The past year has been a busy one for the Lancashire-based comic, which saw him reprise his much loved character, Jerry “The Saint” Sinclair for a 16 night run at the Manchester Arena as part of Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights for Comic Relief. This, along with Punchlines touring, guest presenting spots on the Channel Five Cats/Dogs/Pets make you laugh series and Spikey's own script writing projects has seen the former Chief Bio Medical Scientist as busy as ever.

This show is a stand-up show with a difference. Punchlines derive their humour from being unexpected (“punch” indicating that the “line” should always come as a shock or surprise). So, can a joke or funny story still make you laugh like a drain when you have been given the punchline beforehand? Spikey believes so and in his Punchlines show will present strong evidence to support his theory
