Canada-based British comedian James Mullinger's record-breaking live performance at Saint John's Harbour Station Arena is to be released through Amazon Prime Video on September 5.
Performing to a sold out crowd of 5000 people, Mullinger riffs on leaving England and moving to a small city on the East Coast of Canada, parenting, homemade wine, local newspapers and Facebook.
Since moving to Canada in 2014, James Mullinger has done it all. Festivals, TV shows, big screen movies, awards, his own CBC Radio stand up special and in April last year he sold out New Brunswick’s biggest indoor venue Harbour Station, beating Jerry Seinfeld’s sales record in the process. This journey and story of a man determined to prove that anything is possible living in a small city was documented for the prime-time CBC documentary film City On Fire, which was produced, created and directed by Hemmings House Pictures and aired in Canada last September. Mullinger also co-wrote a movie based on his stand-up experiences, The Comedian's Guide to Survival.
Now the full-length uncut stand up special of that show will be seen across the world on Amazon Prime Video. This is the first stand up special to be released internationally that was filmed in New Brunswick.
Mullinger said: “I am obviously very excited that people all over the world will get to see that stand up show that I spent so long honing and polishing and am very proud of. But I am also incredibly overjoyed that I am also getting to show the rest of the world how beautiful New Brunswick is!”
