Al Murray's Great British Pub Quiz is coming to TV channel Quest.
Each week from his studio pub, Al will bring together teams from the country’s best-loved pubs from all over the UK, in a head-to-head battle to bask in the glory of being crowned winner, and the chance to take home the Great British Pub Quiz tankard plus £1,000 in cash.
It's a bit of an odd thing big comedians doing special Christmas shows. In a business geared to major tours or the Edinburgh Fringe, where do you even find the time to write a special show for Christmas? Luckily Al Murray can think so fast on his feet when he is onstage he hasn't had to do a lot of new writing for this affably riotous Pub Landlord knees up.
TV Channel Quest has commissioned its first comedy entertainment programme, Al Murray’s Great British Pub Quiz, which pits the UK’s most passionate pub quiz teams against each other.
Update 17/7: 20 more dates added from October. Tickets on sale now at link below.
Al Murray, The Pub Landlord, will embark on 43-date tour of the UK from May 2019. The Landlord Of Hope and Glory Tour currently starts at the Chelmsford Civic Theatre on May 8 and finishes at the Shanklin Theatre on the Isle of Wight on July 6.
Al Murray has been confirmed as the headline comedy act at the forthcoming Curious Arts Festival.
The intimate festival takes place at Pylewell Park, New Forest, from 20th to 23rd July.
Curious is cementing a reputation for attracting the cream of UK’s comedy talent with today’s announcement that Al Murray will be joining Radio 4 regular Simon Evans, lightening-quick sketch group The Noise Next Door and gifted character acts Jo Neary and Milo McCabe in the New Forest this July.
The Pub Landlord is back this Christmas to host a one-off festive special called Al Murray’s ‘Make Christmas Great Again’ made for ITV by Avalon.
Christmas is coming and the nation's favourite publican will be hosting the ultimate public house party.
Al Murray has agreed to donate profits from his Underbelly Pub Landlord Summer Saloon gigs tonight and tomorrow (June 16 & 17) to people affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
Underbelly will be matching his contribution up to £10,000.
Tickets can be booked here.
Assembly Festival has announced the first half of its Edinburgh Fringe 2017 programme.
This year marks Assembly's return to its old home the Assembly Rooms on George Street in the New Town as well as continuing with its newer venues in George Square in the Old Town (keep up...).
Bridget Christie recently said that she has torn up the script for her latest show and is busily writing a new hour in time for Edinburgh to tackle her shock at the Referendum vote. Al Murray is going out on a UK tour this autumn so it’ll be interesting to see how he addresses an issue, given that “Back off Brussels” and a general air of mock Europhobia has been part of the Pub Landlord’s act for the past two decades. Has the joke bitten him on the bum?
